INSIDE YASMIN´S CLOSET

Yeah...we are back on a "crime scene", not the same one, but with the same topic; sneaking into closets of true fashion lovers. If you were elated by Caroline´s, it´s really time (almost a year later) to get super-excited, obviously inspired too, of what Style.com Fashion Director Yasmin Sewell, one of most beyond-fashionable people of the last decade, keeps and collects in her closet.

CHANEL´S DATA CENTRE

It was not the first time for Paris´Grand Palais to be the scene of Chanel´s fashion show. For the S/S 2017 collection was equipped or better say, transformed in sort of a brand´s "data centre", featuring various rows of twisted coloured wires, led light boxes and switches.

THE ROOTS OF BRITISH STYLE

There are 4 videos from the lasts series made by Vogue and GQ, 2 videos each, where 2 Vogue and 2 GQ editors trace 4 British style movements then and now. Over all series, each editor meets experts and designers, tastemakers and cultural figures, to find out when, where, how and why they started and what they mean to a new generation today.

Take some time and enjoy.

PRE-VIEW

The S/S 2017 womenswear show was, of course, a first-view of the S/S 2017 collection, while the set was the first-ever official preview (in-the-making) of the upcoming Louis Vuitton flagship on Place Vendôme, scheduled to open in 2017.

THE S-SHAPE

This is a form of the glass pavilion present on Céline S/S 2017 runway, a collaboration between Phoebe Philo and the artist that she admire and is inspired by, Dan Graham.  "I wanted to see my collection cast through the kaleidoscope of Dan's installation. The fact that people can see themselves and the collection makes for more complex reflections,"said Phoebe about it.

INSIDE BRITISH VOGUE PART02

In the second and final part, almost an hour-lenght behind the scnenes of British Vogue, Richard Macer discovers a world of deception at the heart of the fashion bible. 2016 is the centenary year of the British magazine and a whole host of star-studded events have been lined up to commemorate the year, including a huge exhibition of Vogue photography at the National Portrait Gallery, a festival of fashion, a bumper centenary issue and a gala dinner with guests including Kim Kardashian and Samantha Cameron.

INSIDE BRITISH VOGUE PART01

This is the first of two-episode documentary that is giving you a behind-the-scene look at the politics, power and fashion (of course) behind the walls of British Vogue, filmed by Richard Macer. The official statement of BBC two, where the documentary is aired describes you perfectly the core of this two-hours-length project:

INSIDE THE WORLD OF DRIES VAN NOTEN

This video it´s not really fresh, but remains a really good one, so more than a reason to post it. Plus, we Love Dries.

THE PIERCE BAG

When you combine a ladylike boxy shape with a rough-punk detail as a piercing and all was actually evolved from the meswear collection, well this cannot be anyone else, if not J.W. Anderson.

"For me it's important that a bag evolves as it gets older. I wanted to create something classic with a cultural edge to it. It started with a menswear collection from previous season, where we pierced some of the clothes. I liked the idea taking a bit of punk a reference and adding a twist," said he not so long ago about the whole idea to New York Times, as it also not long ago the bag debuted exclusively at Matches, in three different size and colours ranging from black, navy, tan, navy blue, white and gray.

HELMUT BY JUNE

Helmut Newton is without  any doubt an indisputable master of photography, the one who revolutionised not only the fashion photo-scene, but also elevated the so-called “classic” photography into the art world, with provoking images, sometimes defined also disturbing by many, but definitely highly erotic that transformed lush-bodied women into exquisite icons. This less-than-an hour film is more than a documentary, because it´s a true behind-the-scenes video, the one with no limitations and a high-level of intimacy, almost voyeuristic, captured by Newton´s collaborator and wife, June.  Enjoy.

MADE IN WALTHAMSTOW

This is the name of the leather workshop, located in London´s east End, where skilled artisans work for the brand Dunhill on making different accessories, from attaché cases, embossed wallets, document holders, even calfskin weekend bags to specially commissioned pieces from customers. Everything is crafted entirely by hand, which means that even the most “simple' bag will take 16 hours to create, while an average piece takes 30 hours. Each item has the signature of its particular worker on the leather label inside.

THE FUTURE OF FASHION SERIES TWO

Hey, Alexa in collaboration with Vogue is back, but I guess many of you knew that. While in the first season of Future of Fashion Alexa was focused to investigate the state of fashion today by talking to journalists, everyone from current fashion students to the heads of major design houses, buyers and all the workers in between in the UK, she went in the second season on the other part of the fashion globe, in the American fashion business mecca, New York. The whole experience is this time divided in total four videos, featuring talks with Opening Ceremony’s Carol Lim and Humberto Leon on their boundary-pushing retail, a savvy merchandising with Joseph Altuzarra and his CEO Karis Durmer, a sort of investigation of one of the most interesting career trajectories in the fashion world with Brian Phillips of Blackframe PR, and Greg Fong and Emily Segal of art collective turned trend forecasting agency, K-Hole. Not to mention two great examples of ground-breaking women, who saw a gap in the market and took advantage of it with their uncompromising vision - Brooke Wall, founder and CEO of The Wall Group, an agency that represents the behind-the-scenes players who perfect the looks of models and celebrities, and Susan Scafidi, the pioneering professor of one of the most over-subscribed courses at Fordham Law School, Fashion Law. In the fourth and final video Alexa with a help of Leandra Medine analyses one of the most disruptive trends in fashion over the last 10 years that is blogging. The "Man Repeller" founder explains how her blog went from school project to profitable business, and get her advice for anyone looking to succeed.

DIOR F/W 2016/2017 WOMENSWEAR SET

It took exactly 300 people and in total 18 days to build the set for the F/W 2016/2017 Dior show venue that took place on 04 March outside the Louvre (Louvre´s Cour Carrée). Designed by Bureau Betak, the pop-up construction featured a mirrored exterior and 500 square meters of décor. The first video is showing the process of making this set, while the second one is showing how the set looked inside some minutes before first guests of the show arrived.

FUTURE OF FASHION SERIES ONE PART 02

Before we get into the second series of "Future of Fashion" with Alexa Chung , as promised loooong time ago (yes, I am hiding myself now of ashamed), here is the second part or the last three videos of the first series. If someone of you don´t know what I am talking about and it´s the first time you hear/read about it, you have on top a first, an hour-length video featuring the whole season.

FIRST MONDAY IN MAY

We love behind-the scenes documentaries, videos, as I guess it will be this one, showing how the biggest fashion event becomes (every year) reality. The Met Ball.

ALEXA DISCOVERS YOU BRITISH VOGUE

Have you got a chance to see the last documentary made by Alexa Chung for British Vogue? Ok, I know…we´ve done (at least on tedore.at) with first three episodes of “Future of fashion”, a sort behind of the scenes of fashion business and soon I will post the other three. So I apologize to you for my biiig delay, made exclusively as a result of my “not making the notes” habit, which I need to stop, avoiding to become a true bad one.
This time is all about “behind the scenes” of the British Vogue; from the process of the making the paper issue to managing the digital one, from how to get a possible job at Vogue and internship to editors and what really an art director does.

INSIDE - CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE

This is actually the 13th video released by Chanel where anyone can discover and learn about everything of the Chanel world. Titled Haute Couture, the video on an example of a couture jacket showcased and at the same time unveils the whole in-the-making process. Can you believe how much work is behind each piece - it takes like for a example 130 hours to make a single jacket.

DIOR COUTURE S/S 2016 SET

On Monday 26 the Christian Dior haute couture spring-summer 2016 collection was shown at the Musée Rodin in a really captivating mirrored setting. Take a look to both behind-the-scenes videos, first one showing the whole "making-of" set process and in the second one the result.

CAROLINE´S CLOSET

Aren´t Sundays those kind of perfect days when we can finally take some time to chill, without having that guilt-feel (yes, everything can wait), drink a cup of tea or coffee more than usual and, why not, sneak into someone’s closet. Sounds rude! Well, that "responsibility-part" was taken for us by British Vogue, with whose help we are able, anytime (see it..re-see it) to take a look at some really cool wardrobe… of one and only, beside Garance (and maybe one or two more) favourite Frenchie...Ms. Caroline de Maigret.

PRADA S/S 2016 SET

The corrugated polycarbonate surfaces and smooth fiberglass set-scenario was that impressive for Prada, to use it at both S/S 2016 collections; menswear back in June and womenswear in September. The set was made by brand´s long-time* collaborators at OMA with their research arm AMO, the same ones that also completed the Fondazione Prada**.
